Our Fundraising Goals
To increase local sustainability by expanding the Buiga Sunrise School dormitories to accommodate an additional 100 boarding students. This will provide US$42,800 in additional local income per year. By adjusting the student ratio to 100 low income students attending on scholarships + 300 boarding students paying full tuition, the school will be empowered to independently support 100% of the day-to day operational costs, while still offering scholarships to families in need. This will reduce reliance on international donations and ensure long term success of the school.
To reopen our health care center as Gentle Hearts Maternity, based on a model of local sustainability. Funds will be utilized to upgrade and restock our existing fishponds and kickstart a fish pellet and fly rearing project. Pellets and fly larva will be fed to our fish, reducing production costs and increasing profits. Additional pellets and larva, which are in high demand, will also be packaged and sold to farmers in the poultry and aquaculture sectors. The project is expected to raise US$20,000 in annual profits for the maternity, and can grow as we expand our consumer base.
