2025 Goals — Creating Equal Access to Education

Expanding the Girls Dormitory
Creating space for 50 additional boarding students. For every boarding student enrolled, a scholarship will be provided to a low-income day student.

  • C$24,000 raised for construction of the new dormitory

  • C$2,500 raised to purchase 25 bunk beds

Construction of the new Girls Dormitory started in May 2026 - goal accomplished, we did it!

2026 Goals — Building Local Sustainability & Restoring Grace Family Clinic

Aquaculture Project Revival

  • Revitalize and restock the fish ponds

  • Direct local profits toward daily operations of Buiga Sunrise CBO

Student Food Security Initiative

  • Clear the non-productive tea plantation and plant 2 acres of crops for student meals

  • Reduce food costs while improving student nutrition

This goal is in progress thanks to a generous grant from the Ptarmigan Family Foundation - projects kickstart in July 2026!

Reopening Grace Family Clinic as a sustainable Level 3 health facility

Renovation Needs

  • Painting & plastering — C$5,000

  • General building repairs — C$7,000

  • Medical equipment — C$7,000

  • Solar system upgrades — C$1,500

  • Water system improvements — C$3,500

  • Grading the access road — C$1,000

    New partnerships have been formed with Malaria Partners International, the Rotary Clubs of Kampala and the Ministry of Health.

    A fundraising dinner is planned for October 3 in Nelson BC to support clinic restoration efforts. We’re working on it!
